El Galeón (San Pedro de Alcántara) – Dive into History
El Galeón, located off the coast of San Pedro de Alcántara, offers an incredible underwater journey into the past. With a shallow depth of 7 meters, this site is accessible to divers of all levels, especially those interested in maritime history.
Once believed to be a French galeon from 1704, the discovery of a silver 8 Real Spanish coin from 1682, by instructor Kegan, revealed more of its mysterious origins. Divers can explore scattered remains of the wooden shipwreck, including large cannons, buttons, and belt buckles, all while enjoying the thriving marine life that now calls the wreck home.This site is particularly popular with underwater photographers, thanks to its historical artifacts and vibrant marine life.
