Certification Requirements
Course prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver, or qualifying entry-level certification.
Minimum Age: 12
During the Advanced Open Water Diver course, your instructor will ask you to:
- Complete online e-learning for the Deep dive and Underwater Navigation dives and 3 Adventure dives
- Complete a Deep dive and Underwater Navigation dive
- Complete 3 Adventure Ddves
Deep Dive Requirements:
The Advanced Open Water Diver course includes one deep dive.
- The maximum depth for divers 15 or older is 30 metres/100 feet
- For divers 12-15 years old, the maximum depth is 21 metres/70 feet
The depths listed above are the maximum depth, your dive may be shallower. A deep dive is considered anything below 18 metres/60 feet.
- Divers 15 or older earn an Advanced Open Water Diver certification
- Divers between the age of 12-14 earn a Junior Advanced Open Water
- Divers 10-11 can earn a Junior Adventure Diver certification. Upon turning 12, they can complete the deep dive and earn a Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
- Divers certified as Junior Advanced Open Water Divers automatically become Advanced Open Water Divers at age 15. Any replacement certification card or eCard purchased the day after the diver’s 15th birthday will automatically show an Advanced Open Water Diver (not Jr. Advanced Open Water Diver) certification.

This course is designed to enhance your scuba diving skills through five adventure dives, including deep diving and navigation.
Divers aged 12 or older with an Open Water Diver certification who want to expand their skills and explore new dive environments.
You’ll practice advanced techniques such as buoyancy control, night diving, underwater photography, and wreck diving.
After completing the course, you’ll be certified to dive up to 30 meters (100 feet).

Yes! You can choose from a range of specialties, such as underwater photography, drift diving, or search and recovery.
Refunds & Cancellation Policy
Payments:
- All courses must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
- Payments can be made via our accepted methods, either in person or through our online booking system.
Course Cancellation:
- If a dive is canceled by Estepona Dive Center due to adverse weather or sea conditions, clients will receive a full refund for the affected dive(s).
- We prioritize your safety and will make decisions regarding cancellations based on professional assessments of the conditions.
Non-Transferability:
- All courses, dives, and associated bookings are non-transferable. Bookings and course registrations are assigned to the individual and cannot be transferred to another person under any circumstances.
Client Responsibilities:
- Estepona Dive Center reserves the right to reschedule or cancel activities due to unforeseen circumstances, including weather, sea conditions, or instructor availability. In such cases, affected clients will be notified as soon as possible and offered either a refund or an alternative date.
No-Show Policy:
- No refunds will be given for no-shows or late arrivals that result in missed sessions. Please ensure you arrive on time and are prepared for your scheduled activities.
